ITINERARY
Day 1 December 26. Buenos Aires (dinner)

Arrival in Buenos Aires at 08.00, reception and transfer to your hotel. After check-in, a city tour of perhaps the most cosmopolitan city in South America. Most of the population is of European descent and the city is reminiscent of Paris. It is situated on the Rio de la Plata, and as its name suggests, it is the city of good winds. The tour will include a visit to the Plaza de Mayo, the hub of the city centre and where many public buildings such as the Catedral Metropolitana can be found. At the east end, you will find the Casa Rosada presidential palace with the famous balcony from which Juan and Evita Peron greeted the masses.
You shall also visit La Boca, Buenos Aires' most colourful neighbourhood. San Telmo, just a few blocks south of Plaza de Mayo is the artist's quarter, what some believe to be Buenos Aires' most interesting feature.
A final visit to Recoleta, a very fashionable area where you can visit the fine arts museum, called Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and the city's gardens of Plaza Alvear and Plaza Francia. Return to your hotel. In the evening, dinner & tango Show in La Esquina Carlos Gardel, the foremost tango house in Buenos Aires.

Day 2 December 27: Buenos Aires - Estancia (Breakfast & lunch)

Full day Fiesta Gaucha excursion, visiting a typical "estancia" in the pampas. A delicious lunch will be served where you will be able to appreciate the ranching work of the true South American cowboy, the gaucho. Return to your hotel.

Day 3 December 28: Buenos Aires - El Calafate - Perito Moreno Glacier (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to El Calafate. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. El Calafate is the site of the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the most dramatic natural sites left on earth. The Perito Moreno Glacier of Santa Cruz is a 60m (197ft) high river of rising, toppling and exploding ice, though it hasn't advanced for several years. A tour of the glacier.

Day 4 December 29: El Calafate (Breakfast & lunch)

After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip to the Upsala, Onelli and Spegazzini glaciers. Return to your hotel.

Day 5 December 30. El Calafate - Buenos Aires - Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight to Buenos Aires and connecting flight to Rio de Janeiro. Arrival in Rio, reception and transfer to your hotel.
(Please note that all US citizens require a Brazilian visa for this excursion)

Day 6 December 31. Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast & dinner)

After breakfast, a full day visit of the "marvelous city" including a sightseeing tour to Sugar Loaf Mountain. A two-stage cable car takes you to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain where you will enjoy a splendid view of Rio, Copacabana Beach, and Guanabara Bay. After lunch, a trip to the heart of Rio for a historical city tour including Santa Teresa, the Teatro Municipal and the Fine Arts Museum. The trip also includes a visit to Corcovado, the mountain home to the world famous, Christo de Redentor statue for a magnificent 360° panoramic view of Rio. After, a trip to the Tijuca forest, a luxuriant tropical forest only minutes away from this huge. Return to your hotel. Fabulous dinner and Gala show in Rio.

Day 7 January 1. Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast)

Free day to enjoy the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

Day 8 January 2. Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast & lunch)

A full day visit by boat to the tropical islands around Rio. The Tropical Islands, the islands that permeate Sepetiba Bay, are a natural paradise situated only a few short kilometres from the city. The tour begins by privatye transfer in the direction of the fishing village of Itacuruçá, where you will board a private saveiro (schooner) for a cruise through ItacuruçáBay, bypassing several beautiful islands and tropical forests that rise from the sea.
During the cruise, there will be stops for swimming on semi-desert beaches to give even more charm to this fabulous tour. Lunch is served on the island: an assortment of wonderful fish stews, assorted seafood, salads and barbecue of your choice. After lunch, there is free time to enjoy the beach on the island. Board the schooner for your return to Itacuruçá and return to Rio and your hotel.

Day 9 January 3. Rio de Janeiro - Buenos Aires (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel.

Day 10 January 4: Buenos Aires - Iguazu - Brazilian side (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Puerto Iguazu (not included). Transfer to your hotel. In the early afternoon, we cross the border into Brazil for a half day excursion to appreciate a wider view of the falls. Return to your hotel in Argentina.
(Please note that all US citizens require a Brazilian visa for this excursion).

Day 11 January 5: Iguazu Falls (Breakfast)

A visit to the fabulous UNESCO World Heritage Iguazu falls, the most voluminous falls in the world and more than three times the width of the Niagara Falls. The Argentinean side of Iguazú allows for a close appreciation. Set in a subtropical rain forest reserve of over 180,000 hectares, Iguazú is home to jaguar, puma, caiman and over 400 species of bird. This tour includes "The Great Adventure", an exhilarating boat ride on the Iguazu River, heading towards the falls themselves. Return to your hotel.

Day 12 January 6: Puerto Iguazu - Buenos Aires (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires (not included) and your connecting flight home.
