ITINERARY
Day 1. Buenos Aires

Arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2. Buenos Aires

After breakfast, a city tour of perhaps the most cosmopolitan metropolis in South America. The tour will include a visit to the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada presidential palace with the famous balcony from which Juan and Evita Peron greeted the masses. After lunch, a visit to La Esquina Carlos Gardel, the foremost tango house in Buenos Aires.

Day 3: Buenos Aires - Tucuman

Flight from Buenos Aires to Tucuman. Reception and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour of Tucuman which was founded in 1565; the city was moved to the present site in 1685. Popularly known as "El Jardín de la República" (The garden of the Republic), the visit includes the Obispo Colombres House, the historical House of the Declaration of Independence, the outstanding Cathedral, Casa Padilla Museum and the El Cadillal dam.

Day 4: Tafi del Valle - Quilmes - Cafayate

After breakfast, full day excursion to Tafi del Valle and Quilmes. Tafí provides excursions to the high mountains and valleys and the old city of Quilmes which sheltered a large Indian population (considered the largest pre-Hispanic human settlement of Argentina). Overnight accommodation at Cafayate.

Day 5: Cafayate - Molinos - Cachi

Full day excursion to Cafayate, a small town near to the Calchaquies Valley where some of the finest wines of Argentina are produced. Molinos is a traditional village in the Calchaquí Valley which preserves important archaeological ruins. Overnight accommodation in Cachi.

Day 6: Cachi - Salta

The tiny village of Cachi is located at the foot of the ice peak of Mount Cachi 2280m. The Parish Church of Cachi has been declared a National Historic Monument. Famous for its furniture made of 'cardón' or giant cactus wood. Next to the church stands the Archaeological Museum, where numerous pieces brought from Las Pailas, a site near Mount Cachi foothill are exhibited. Overnight accommodation in Salta.

Day 7: Salta

Half day city tour of Salta, the finest preserved colonial city in ArgentinaWith many interesting buildings such as the Cathedral, dating back to the second half of the XIX century; the Cabildo, built at the same time, which houses the Historic Northwestern Museum; the San Francisco Temple and Convent, whose present building was finished by the mid XVIII century and which was declared Minor Basilica by the Vatican in 1997.

Day 8: Humahuaca Canyon

Full day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Humahuaca Canyon. The tour will include a visit of the canyon, before returning to your hotel.

Day 9: Salta - Salt Flats

After breakfast, we visit the traditional town of Quijano before reaching the impressive Toro Gorge. We shall stop and visit the pre-Incan city of Tastil. Then, we continue our trip to San Antonio de los Cobres, which is a small mining town, to have lunch. In the afternoon, we take the famous 40 national route, which takes us to the Salt Flats, where you will see the magnificence of the Puna. Then, we go down the impressive Lipan Slope until we reach the picturesque Purmamarca town (Province of Jujuy), with its famous Seven Colours Hill. Return to your hotel in Salta.

Day 10: Salta - Buenos Aires

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight to Buenos Aires and your return flight home.
